The Little Prince - Katherine Woods, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry I read [b:The Little Prince|157993|The Little Prince|Antoine de Saint-Exupéry|http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1367545443s/157993.jpg|2180358] by [a:Antoine de Saint-Exupéry|1020792|Antoine de Saint-Exupéry|http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/authors/1330853515p2/1020792.jpg] in readiness for a discussion on Ivan's The Novella Club in August 2013 at GoodReads. I really enjoyed this short, sweet and yet quietly profound story of a little prince from another planet.

I had never read it before and must confess that, it was only after I'd finished the book and was looking on Wikipedia, that I discovered it was such a hugely popular book. I also discovered interesting information about the author; some of the events and people that inspired the story; and some of the less obvious meanings containing in the book.

It's a book I can now imagine reading every year or two, as - in common with other similar books (e.g. "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens) - it contains simple and profound truths that we all do well to remember.

I don't keep many books that I read however will certainly be keeping this one and I look forward to reading it again soon.
