I picked this up having run out of books on holiday. This book was lying around in my holiday accommodation. This is not a proper review just a few quick thoughts. I really enjoyed the first half of the book which made me laugh out loud on a few occasions. The book covers middle age insecurity, male friendship and competitiveness, ageing, death, infidelity, multiculturalism, religious faith, Judaism, Zionism and anti-semitism. Around the halfway point that book started to pall and by the end I was relieved to finish it. Just about worth reading but I'm not sure how it managed to win The Booker Prize.
